4. NBA Street V3 And SSX On Tour – Nintendo Mascots
Alongside Fight Night Round 2, Nintendo and EA Sports’ agreement crossed over into two additional releases. Both coming out in 2005, NBA Street V3 and SSX On Tour also contained exclusive content in their Gamecube releases.
Little Mac was an appropriate choice for Round 2, fitting the boxing theme but Nintendo lacked an equivalent basketball franchise and 1080° Avalanche’s characters were not exactly memorable. As such, they decided to utilise their most iconic franchise and both games included Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach as playable characters.
Taking this one step further, V3 included a Nintendo Court, whilst SSX modified its Last Call slope to become Nintendo Village, utilising iconic Super Mario Bros imagery such as Mushrooms and Fire Flowers.
