12 Big-Budget Video Games That Launched Completely Broken
5. Diablo III
One of the most famous examples of a game's release not going to plan - partly because of the reputation a team like Blizzard have, and also because when the game first came out the industry was just starting to push online content in a big way. It goes without saying that the Diablo titles are some of the best-known RPGs in gaming history, so understandably upon the release of part three Blizzard's servers were taking a pounding. The midnight hour rolled around and the expected time for the tens of thousands of fans to go online was upon them - and then it was behind them. For what eventually amounted to a series of days the prompt from the game was the now infamous 'Error 37' message which prompted fans to 'Try again later'. Luckily Blizzard were more than aware of this, mentioning during the release for expansion pack Reaper of Souls that history would not be repeating itself.
