12 Big-Budget Video Games That Launched Completely Broken

4. Grand Theft Auto: Online

Despite its incredible size, GTA V remains fairly bug-free, with Rockstar taking the time - and having the programming prowess - to deliver a gargantuan world that despite the occasional invisible police car, remains bug-free the the majority. The same could not be said however, for GTA: Online - the first attempt to officially create a living, breathing city full of many interconnected players all interacting with each other in real time. GTA:O 'launched' insomuch as you could pick the option from a menu, but in terms of actually getting into a game, instead you could be presented with a number of things from 'Mission Failed' screens to empty areas where your character was supposed to be standing. Rockstar eventually issued a full apology, stating they were doing their best and working "around the clock" to fix the issue, but as the whole thing stemmed once again from over-strained servers, you'd think a developer in their position would have anticipated such a thing.
