Tom Clancy is remembered for his espionage and military novels set during or after the Cold War. He was also the main inspiration for games like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. But he was also the inspiration for one of the most famous lone wolf operatives of all time and owner of the coolest headgear in gaming.
Sam Fisher of the Splinter Cell series is like James Bond, Macgyver and Batman all rolled into one. With a wide variety of weapons and gadgets at his disposal, Sam approaches his missions in an often no-nonsense, but also sarcastic manner, as he is well aware of the political ramifications of his covert and sometimes morally ambiguous missions.
Despite being such a beloved character in a very popular series, Sam’s most recent outing was in the form of a cameo appearances in the very underwhelming Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
