12 Great Video Game Characters Who Deserve A Comeback

There have been many weird and crazy concepts for video game characters over the years, but there are few out there that are as outlandish as an earthworm who comes into possession of a super-cyber-suit and uses it to fight nefarious forces across multiple planets in order to rescue Princess What’s-Her-Name.

Originally created by comic book writer Doug TenNapel for a Hong Kong based toy company, Earthworm Jim was presented to Shiny Entertainment who decided to make a game around the character. The result was the main protagonist of a side-scrolling platform shooter who was just as surreal as the world he inhabited.

But no matter how weird things got, Jim was the glue that kept the whole thing together. His childish behaviour, hilarious catchphrases and completely nonsensical abilities alway put a smile on players faces as they started blasting their way through multiple enemies.

Earthworm Jim deserves his comeback because it would be such a waste to let such an entertaining character fade into memory. Multiple failed attempts at a new Earthworm Jim game further justifies his return as fans would love to see their favourite four-brained worm once again get his chance to fight with a sense of unfaltering justice.
