12 Greatest Beards In Gaming History

11. Max Payne €“ Max Payne 3

The original Max Payne games were gritty noir affairs, as heavy on the action shooting as they were with the inner monologues and graphic novel cut-scenes. As time passed the idea of a 3rd Max Payne game were dwindling as no developers or publishers were even giving hushed whispers into the ears of the rumour mill. But then lo and behold we heard Rockstar were bring the game back to the current generation. Gamers rejoiced as word got out, but then something happened, a screen-shot was released of Max Payne no longer in his leather jacket and grizzled face, he was wearing a wife beater, with a few more pounds of weight on him, no hair and a massive beard. On it's own this screen-shot was heartbreaking, but when seen within the context of the game it just works. I will cover this further later in the list, but in gaming a beard symbolises one of two things, either wisdom or downfall. It's quite clear which of these is more suitable to Max Payne.

10. Larry DaVinci €“ Little Big Planet 2

It's hard to go into detail as to why this beard deserves a place on the list, the Little Big Planet games have a wonderful aesthetic that is perfect in it's world. They've settled on a design and pushed it into every aspect of all the levels. One of the areas in particular that works is DaVinci€™s beard, the newspaper beard just looks great and is an excellent touch from Media Molecule.
