9. Cranky Kong Donkey Kong Country
Donky Kong games are full of unusual character traits; on the most part we are lead to believe that it's perfectly acceptable for an ape to wear a tie or baseball cap with t-shirt. It's near impossible to show age on an ape, so to show the years you have to go with give the un-evolved human a beard. Quite simply this brazen attempt at adding age to the fur ball earns it's place in the list as one of gamings greatest beards.
8. Gilius Thunderhead Golden Axe
Golden Axe is a classic series that got worse and worse as it went on, the third in particular was a travesty, especially with the addition of a half man half cat. One of the things that made the first game so good was the characters; you have a beefcake barbarian, a sultry sorceress and finally the owner of a beard that can be suitably described as legendary, Gilius Thunderhead the dwarf. With a beard nearly the size of his body it's clear that despite his obvious skill with a battle axe, his ability to use a razor is somewhat lacking.
