8. The Other Mother - Coraline (PS2)

Unlike most films made for children, the suspense in this story is very real and very scary. Coraline must rescue her parents from the Other Mother, a creature who appears to be a perfect version of her own Mom at first, but later turns into a skeletal spider bent on sewing black buttons into Coraline's eyes. When Coraline finally defeats the Other Mother in the movie everyone breathes a sigh of relief. On the other hand, the video game takes this horrifying creature and turns it into a nightmare only your thumbs will lose sleep over. The Other Mother is defeated through a tedious series of buttons being mashed in a timed order; you know, like all good boss battles. After Coraline finally shoves the Other Mother into her world and closes the door forever, the only sighs of relief you'll breathe will be to rejoice the game's ending.
