12 Most Hotly Anticipated Original Gaming Properties Of 2014
5. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture
The Chinese Room have been making waves in the indie scene and for good reason. The small team is known for making subversive games that feature a focus on exploration and uncovering a story, largely devoid of any traditional gameplay and enemies. Their critically acclaimed hit Dear Esther doesn't have a single enemy, while Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs had roughly two encounters in the entire game and still managed to be one of the most tense experiences in recent memory. Everybody's Gone To The Rapture is set during the apocalypse and will tell a story from the perspective of six different characters. The Chinese Room also promises that there will be more interaction - most likely basic puzzles as seen in A Machine For Pigs - and multiple opportunities to shift the outcome of the narrative. Admittedly, there isn't a whole lot shown about the game yet, but the strong track record of the studio is enough to build confidence that this will assuredly be one of the indie darlings of 2014.
