12 Hugely-Anticipated Video Games That Must Be At E3 2017
9. Metal Gear Survive
Fans of the series have shown mixed to fiercely negative reactions to Metal Gear: Survive so far, with YouTube comments on the game's reveal trailer showing passionate arguments from those who have reservations about Metal Gear Survive's apparent creative direction. Many are upset that Konami are crafting a new Metal Gear without Kojima, but Metal Gear: Rising also had that stipulation - being created by Platinum Games - and that was fantastic.
First announced back at last year's E3, Metal Gear Survive is the first game in the Metal Gear series since the departure of Hideo Kojima.
Set as a side story during the events of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - a wormhole of sorts opens up during an attack on Mother Base, stranding the surviving Diamond Dogs soldiers in an alternate dimension. Their new mission is simply to survive and find a way home.
Also, there are zombies. Or certainly creatures that are strikingly similar to zombies.
Aside from a reveal trailer, a 15 minute gameplay demo was shown at Tokyo Game Show in 2016 that showcased Metal Gear Survive's co-operative action using the Metal Gear Solid 5 engine, and some of the game's newly implemented melee weapons.
With the game having been announced so long ago, a release may not be too far off, but we should definitely find out more about it at E3 this year.
