In the last article I covered how you absolutely need to throw yourself into water to see if you can swim in a game, but another thing you just have to test out is whether or not the fire is simply there for show.

Whether that's from a camp or the result of you scorching the area with molotov cocktails, it's absolutely imperative to check out if the developers put the time into making your character catch fire if they're stood over an open flame.

For the most part you absolutely will take some damage finding this out, maybe even getting killed entirely if you're particularly unlucky, but it's worth it to see if the detail is there.

It's kinda the gaming equivalent of your parents telling you to not touch the oven, and then immediately doing it, getting burned, and never going near the damn thing ever again.
