7. Double Saving (Just To Be Sure)

Though new gamers these days might not have to deal with the issue, older players still have nightmares about losing hours of progress either because they forgot to save, or one of their files corrupted seemingly for no reason.

Just about everyone has a story about a game they didn't realise had checkpoints and forced you to literally load a save when you died, only to realise they never actually got around to it and had to restart a game from the very beginning. Consequently, even now, with the knowledge that games usually auto-save, most of us can't help but manually save straight after just to double check.

Hell, you might even double check the double check manual save to be sure. It's a bit obsessive, but it's better than living in a constant state of fear.
