12 Most Anticipated Nintendo Switch Games - Ranked
5. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Filling the other slot alongside Skyrim, Xenoblade is a far more eastern RPG that feels right at home on Nintendo hardware.
Even the game's base plot - which sounds like something written by Terry Pratchett if he'd grown up in Japan - involves the search for an eternal nirvana as humanity survives on the back of ginormous beasts called Titans. This translates into stunning vistas and backdrops as you fight, though despite its Eastern affectations, combat is real-time.
Somewhat in the vein of Final Fantasy XV - though with far more tactics to your moves and placement on the battlefield - Chronicles 2 is introducing a system focused on 'Blades': Customisable weapons that will constantly be augmented with different elements and abilities over time.
Like the next entry on this list, the only reason the original Xenoblade Chronicles didn't take off was down to the Wii U suffocating its cries for attention.
Now it's on the Switch, it should be this series' time to truly shine.
