12 Nintendo Franchises That Could Be Adapted Into Movies
4. Star Fox
The first of two science fiction options for Nintendo, Star Fox is probably the less likely of the two to make a successful film franchise. It's a shame, because Fox is a great character and is accompanied by a fun cast of crew-mates (excluding you, Slippy Toad!). But Fox is definitely a character with more of a "cult" fanbase than huge mainstream marketability. Still, it's not out of the question to imagine an animated Star Fox adventure hitting the big screen. Imagine Fox, Peppy, Krystal, Falco and... Yes... Slippy... teaming up to fight off Wolf O'Donnell and his team of mercenaries. They could have the Star Wolf team working for a supervillain like Andross. The narratives of Star Fox games are always genuinely enjoyable, and the sci-fi weaponry and spaceships are genuinely pretty cool... Maybe, just maybe, Nintendo would consider a Star Fox film - though it certainly won't be the first one that they pitch. Casting Suggestion: Denzel Washington as Fox. Peppy, Krystal and Falco could be voiced by Mark Hamill, Cameron Diaz and Jason Statham. If Slippy must be included, it'd probably have to be someone like Michael Cera. Or give it to Bruce Campbell, who has made a career out of making rubbish characters funny and likeable. Likelihood: 6/10 Desirability: 9/10 (without Slippy Toad)
