The Super Smash Bros. series is one of the biggest selling in Nintendo's history. If the company were to throw together its own version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a Super Smash Bros. movie could be their Avengers: Assemble. In other words, a marketable opportunity to get everyone from Mario, to Donkey Kong, to Link, to Samus, to the Pokémon characters all in one film. It'd even allow them to branch off into the Sega-owned Sonic franchise, or to introduce the Capcom-owned Mega Man. OK, this may seem far-fetched. What would the story be, for starters? Surely something could be pulled together? Perhaps Bowser, King Dedede, Dr. Robotnik, Mewtwo and Wario have teamed up to destroy the universe once and for all, and Nintendo's heroes must join forces to prevent the entire world of animation from being destroyed. Or something? Whether it's feasible or not is dependent on how many films Nintendo actually plans on putting out, and whether it actually wants to create a universe to rival the likes of Marvel. It would be pretty amazing though, right? Make it happen, Nintendo. Casting Suggestion: Well it has to be an ensemble cast, obviously. Pacino and De Niro would reprise their roles of Mario and Luigi. Sonic could be voiced by Robert Downey Jr., giving him an arrogant but smooth-talking edge. Mega Man would have to be someone capable of doing pretty likeable but mildly dull... Ryan Gosling, perhaps? Likelihood: 2/10 Desirability: 10/10 Which of these Nintendo franchises would you most like to see transformed into a film? Share your favourites below in the comments thread.
