The Game: One of the most iconic and unforgettable video games ever made, Space Invaders sees the player fending off an epic alien invasion with limited weaponry and protection, getting increasingly more intense as you destroy more enemy forces. The Movie: Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend, Hancock) will be producing the movie for Warner Bros, while Daniel Kunka (12 Rounds) will be writing the script. Beyond that, little is known about the project to date. Why It's Ridiculous: Because, like Asteroids, it's just such an absurdly simple game aesthetically and premise-wise, so why on Earth would anyone want to make a movie out of it, other than that the name is well-known by even non-gamers? Space Invaders will already be appearing in the upcoming Adam Sandler blockbuster comedy Pixels: can't that be enough?
