12 Ridiculous Video Game Movies You Didn't Know Were Happening

7. The Sims

The Game: Maxis' immensely popular people simulator, in which players can create their own quirky family of Sims: gibberish-speaking, attention-seeking loons who try to find satisfaction in their lives...and not burn to death while cooking dinner. The Movie: Producer John Davis (Predators, Chronicle) has stated that the movie take will take cues from John Hughes' classic teen comedy Weird Science, as the protagonist realises that he can somehow view his own world in the Sims video game, and whatever actions he affects in the game are reflected in the real world. Naturally, the plan is for the game to turn on them, and then they'll have to try and reverse some of its more destructive choices. Why It's Ridiculous: The concept is head-smackingly bad, and pretty much just feels like a glorified advertisement for the video game series itself. There's not really any way to make a non-goofy premise out of this game (considering that it is simply holding a mirror up to real life), so hopefully this one will never actually come to fruition.
