Team Rocket's goal is simple €“ steal enough Pokemon to somehow acquire world domination. It's just a shame that their entire organisation, including head honcho Giovanni; end up being bested by a ten year old kid. That kid isn't necessarily an idiot but Team Rocket has scientists and researchers at its disposal €“ surely someone in their organisation can come up with a way to outsmart and defeat a child? The group is eventually disbanded after such a humiliating defeat with Giovanni disappearing, presumably to re-evaluate his existence. Of course, the ten year old kid in question comes equipped with creatures that could be declared weapons of mass destruction in today's world; but the point still stands that Team Rocket's entire evil crew is brought to its knees by a child. And that's just the games; look at the amount of times Jessie and James were beaten by Ash in the TV show - this is a kid that doesn't understand basic Pokemon types at all and has taken hundreds and hundreds of episodes to try and become the very best yet doesn't seem to be any closer. It must make pretty hard watching for Giovanni; wherever he's blasted off to.
