12 Worst Video Game Moments Of The Decade (So Far)

4. Absolutely Everything Around Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5

Nothing like the industry weeing all over your childhood memories just to hammer home how little we've got in the way of forward momentum, eh? Tony Hawk's 5 isn't just a naff game conceptually, it isn't just a naff game when you get behind the board and it isn't just a naff game because the songs are all crap - it's a goddamn terrible product that's so unplayable and so unfinished, it makes something like Ride to Hell: Retribution look like Grand Theft Auto III. To be fair, we should've all lowered our expectations considerably when Robomodo (the random developer assigned to this) brought out the awful Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD remake, and then we should've lowered them more when the first batch of screenshots came out for THPS 5.
However, nothing could prepare the 90s faithful for just how shallow and morally bankrupt whoever greenlit the release of this truly is. Rumours abound that this was shoved out the door to cash in on the Hawkster's contract expiring with Activision, which if you ever wanted any more confirmation that your goodwill and love for gaming is being thoroughly mined for cash well, here it is.
