5. The End Of Black Beard - Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag
Coming off of nothing more than pure disappointment with Assassin's Creed 3 seriously how do you make a game that underwhelming when your source material is the American Revolution of all things- many of us werent sure if it was going to even be worth bothering playing the next annual installment. I guess every franchise has to have one stinker occasionally though. Assassin's Creed 4 however was a swift recovery and total return to form. Edward is the best Assassin weve gotten since Ezio and the game itself is easily the best installment since Brotherhood. A large reason definitely has to do with the fact that this entry feels refreshing, as hammered home by the fact that sailing and naval confrontations were refined, given ample focus, and endlessly fun. The amount of exploration may as well be never-ending too. Best Moment- This is an easy one, although a depressing one. Ever since Blackbeard was introduced in trailers gamers were jumping with anticipation to rule the high seas alongside the legend himself. And for a while we did, until Blackbeard met his demise in one of the most tragic and emotional scenes gaming has ever produced.
