It seems that everywhere you turn movies are getting gritty realistic reboots, so why not go for it with some classic video game franchises? A good place to start is definitely Tomb Raider too. Im not saying the classic installments were bad games, but it was pretty embarrassing that one of the industrys most recognizable female heroines was nothing more than some giant T and A. With how far this industry has matured and still is- it only made sense to take Lara Croft and completely reimagine her into a strong willed survivor that female gamers and even mature male gamers- could rally behind. Fortunately the game succeeded too. Its got enough jaw-dropping action sequences to put Naughty Dog on notice, a brutal style of gunplay, the puzzle peppered tombs, and so many collectables I think getting them all earns a spot on my life achievements or something. Best Moment- You stare at an HD Lara for 20 hours! No, thats not it, Im not that chauvinistic. Similar to an Uncharted game though, you can pick any of the scripted platforming/ Michael Bay destruction moments out of a hat and itll make a good candidate. I am going with the moment the final boss battle is won, and Lara FINALLY picks up an extra pistol for duel-wielding. It's that moment you're waiting for throughout the entire game and when it comes, it's oh so satisfying. The overall game may birth a survivor, but this is the moments that births Lara Croft as we know her.
