13 Best Star Wars Video Games Of All Time
2. Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
After the original Dark Forces and Jedi Knight established Kyle Katarn as one of the best new Star Wars characters, Jedi Outcast finally gave the hero the game he deserved.
Continuing to improve on both the lightsaber combat and Force powers introduced in the previous game as well as the first-person shooting that made the franchise so popular in the first place, Jedi Knight brilliantly balanced its two warring playstyles.
While it could have been jarring to jump between blasters and lightsabers, being able to seamlessly swap from third-person to first ensured that the transition between playstyles pleased both fans of the original Dark Forces as well as Jedi Knight.
Although it didn't immediately allow players to start tearing up with a lightsaber in the same way as Jedi Academy, the story of Outcast was much better told, offering players a better sense of progression as they graduated from being a lowly blaster-wielder to a ridiculously powerful Jedi master.
