13 Bold Gaming Predictions For 2019

6. Cyberpunk 2077 Wins Game Of The Year

With the last two years seeing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and God of War picking up the bulk of the Game of the Year honours, it's probably reasonable not to expect any major surprises when it comes to 2019's GOTY.

Predicting the winner a whole 12 months out is a bit of a crap shoot, sure, but there's one game that really stands out from the pack in terms of hype and its potential to end the current generation on a boundary-pushing high.

CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 has all the makings of a mind-blowing generation-capper, and considering that the company's The Witcher 3 scooped up its share of GOTY awards, it has a ton of momentum going in.

The main obstacle to awards glory, honestly, is the possibility that it ends up slipping to 2020.

CDPR has a track record of delays, though with the game's Turkish publisher Bilkom recently reiterating a 2019 release, hopefully players will have the sci-fi RPG in their mitts by this time next year.
