13 Bold Gaming Predictions For 2019

5. Xbox Game Pass Gets Third-Party Day-One Releases

2018 was a fantastic year for Xbox Game Pass, with Microsoft redoubling their efforts, especially in the second half of the year, to jam-packing each month with enticing games both old and new.

What will eventually take Game Pass to the next level is its ability to constantly offer players a steady stream of day-and-date releases, and not just from their growing family of first-party developers.

If Microsoft truly is committed to "winning" the next generation, they'll have thrown some hefty wads of cash at third-party publishers also.

While it's unlikely we'll see the most lucrative AAA franchises on Game Pass, third-party indies and mid-budget games? Absolutely.

If Microsoft could launch a significant third-party release every month, the incentive to stay signed up would be huge, and could be a game-changer when it comes to picking between Xbox Scarlett and PS5.
