13 Harsh Realities Of Gaming As A Grown-Up
10. Nothing Lives Up To Nostalgic Memories
Perfect Dark Zero was one of the first games I ever bought for the Xbox 360, and as an experiment I recently picked the title back up to play through it again for the first time in ten years - attempting to recapture the nostalgia of opening up a 360 and being blown away with a next gen game.
It was an utterly disheartening experience.
Because even if you do manage to find the time to go back and play through the releases you've built up as classics over the years, there's no way they're ever going to live up to the mythical status you've assigned in your head.
Sure, Perfect Dark Zero was probably always a bad game, but the worst part about replaying it ten years down the line was realising there's just no way to get back that childish naïveté that made everything so exciting first time through.
