This has become such a problem that presenters often finish a sentence and wait for people to clap. Even if it is the most boring and unimaginative of sentences.

Of course showing support is a must, and clapping big announcements should be encouraged, but watching from home and hearing everyone burst into applause at the most minor of details is frustrating.
