13 Most Frustrating Aspects Of E3 That Never Change
1. What E3 Should Be Used For Vs. What It Is Used For
E3 is meant to be the place to showcase video games, and the conferences are primarily there for big announcements; to give a taste of the games to those who won't be able to get a hands-on experience with them.
But instead, it is this opportunity to bombard gamers with trailer after trailer, never getting into the details of how games are going to work. It is an exercise in spectacle, with big flashy trailers taking centre stage and the most attention.
It should be an opportunity for developers to get deep into their games and explain what can't be explained in a flashy trailers. Trailers come every day of the year, so E3 should be about expanding on them. Right now, E3 isn't making the most of the platform it helped create.
