8. Blizzard's Embarrassing Diablo Immortal Announcement

After hyping fans up to believe that Diablo 4 was due to be the keynote announcement at BlizzCon last month, the company instead made the hilariously deflating reveal of a mobile game, Diablo Immortal.

During a post-reveal Q&A, principal designer Wyatt Cheng confirmed that the game would be mobile-only with no plans for a PC release, resulting in a chorus of boos from the audience.

Chang then made the unfortunate choice to respond with, "Do you guys not have phones?", a howlingly tone-deaf remark which only enraged the fanbase further.

This led to calls from fans to boycott the game and even "demand" its cancellation, because why would a company with even a sliver of self-awareness hype up a big reveal for a PC gaming franchise only to announce...a mobile-exclusive game?

If you want to look as out-of-touch with your player-base as possible, this is how you do it.
