7. Sony Delivers A Lacklustre PlayStation Classic
Sony decided to jump on the nostalgia train earlier this year by announcing the PlayStation Classic, a mini version of the original PS1 which was released at the beginning of December.
As soon as reviews began to emerge, however, it became clear that Sony had created a lazily barebones package with the hope of exploiting some easy fondness for the past.
The 20 games on offer are a wildly mixed bag with some notable classic omissions, while almost half the games are presented in their inferior 50Hz PAL format, and the emulation itself delivers blurry, inconsistent results with sagging frame-rates.
Considering that Sony decided to charge £89.99 for the unit, it's shambolic just how piecemeal and hastily rushed-out the end result is.
