13 Video Game Characters You Didn't Realise Were Based On Real People

8. Altair/Ezio Auditore/Desmond Miles - Francisco Randez

Ezio was the best, wasn't he? The hero of Assassin's Creed II had it all - the rugged good looks, a heart of gold, and the ability to easily handle a rabble of enemies by patiently waiting for them to strike then counter-attacking them one by one (yes, that is a dig at the series' simplistic combat mechanics). While it's hard to be as complementary of Ezio's distant progeny, Desmond (the dull), it can't be denied that the apple didn't fall too far from the tree looks-wise. In fact, they look virtually identical, making you wonder how the bloodline managed to stay so undiluted over several generations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCp1Q3UUhFY As it turns out, Ezio, Desmond, and even Altair from the original Assassin's Creed owe their looks to fashion model Francisco Randez. When you look at them above, the resemblance really is uncanny. Apparently Randez is into martial arts and running himself, but we'd still probably side with Ezio if there were a duel or rooftop race between the two.
