The only successful thing Mighty No. 9 really did was exploit people's love of Mega-Man and manage to bleed an insane $4 million from hopeful fans on Kickstarter. The actual game itself? Atrocious.

Though the writing had been on the wall for a long, long time with numerous delays and gameplay footage that suggested an end product far away from the original concept designs, it still sucked for backers that they paid so much money for a game that evidently didn't make good use of such a monstrous budget.

With janky controls, dated visuals, terrible voice acting, and gameplay that's more frustrating than fun, Mighty No. 9 was rightly panned and is destined to be remembered as a reminder of Kickstarter's perils.
