13 Worst Video Game Industry Decisions Of 2017 (So Far)

10. Nintendo's Outdated Approach To Online Functionality

Nintendo has historically proven themselves to be behind-the-times when it comes to online functionality, and as great as the Switch is, they're not surprising anyone with their management of its online features.

Firstly, despite the console having been out for roughly four months, there's still no confirmation of Virtual Console, and the online multiplayer phone app and subscription service ludicrously won't launch until next year.

At least Nintendo did pull an about-turn on their original decision to offer classic games "free" with the online subscription, but only for the month they were offered. Now any games offered will be available in perpetuity for those who maintain their subscriptions, like equivalent services on Xbox and PlayStation.

Still, Nintendo is insanely behind the times here.
