9. Little Nightmares

Little Nightmares is a delightfully dark puzzle adventure game, as the player controls a raincoat-clad nine-year-old girl named Six, who attempts to escape a mysterious locale known as The Maw, having to use her wits to evade a host of grotesque monsters keen to devour her.

Though it's just a few hours long and does suffer occasionally from its trial-and-error gameplay, for the most part this is a gorgeous, intensely atmospheric game that reminds once again just how unexpectedly well-suited horror can be to the platforming genre.

Its vague storytelling won't be for everyone, but as a short, snappy, eerie romp that'll make you crave a shower afterwards, this is an unassuming treat and well worth your time.
