14 Controversial Video Game Moments That Pissed Off The Fanboys

13. Modern Warfare 2 Has A Hacking Problem!

True to a fault, Call of Duty will always be remembered as the most successful war game franchise for being innovative. Particularly, its leap from the WWII era to the modern war era in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare stands out the most of its many accomplishments since it was a time when the WWII backdrop had run its course. But it all didn't go off without a hitch. Activision's ground breaking war game franchise would attempt to take center stage again in 2009 with the sequel Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But while it did succeed as a commercial success, the game made many who bought it turn red with anger over frequent hacking in its multiplayer portion. While the game has been criticised for its many bugs in the multiplayer, we chose the hacks because they completely ruined the experience for everyone. Those who managed to exploit the game's code were able to introduce unauthorized mods like their own weapons, aimbots and even doctored rankings on the scoreboard -- all so they can play God in the competitive space of COD. While some of these problems persisted in future entries of the franchise, it was Modern Warfare 2 that got the full brunt of them.
