14 Fan-Made Sonic Games That Succeed Where Sega Failed

13. Emerald Ties

One of the more recent games on the list, Emerald Ties is a 6-man project to create a retro Sonic game with a brand new, modern appeal.

Revealed during SAGE 2016, Emerald Ties is the whole package. Unlike Before The Sequel earlier on the list, Emerald Ties uses 100% new, original visuals, giving it an unmatchable flair. It's definitely one of the most gorgeous games on this list.

On top of that, with all new enemies filling the stages, brand new stage designs using original graphics, Emerald Ties is a huge undertaking, but it's definitely paid off. This game is a fan project to keep an eye on in the future.

Once you've watched the amazing trailer above, you can play three stages from the game right now, by downloading a demo link from the game's official homepage.
