14 Fan-Made Sonic Games That Succeed Where Sega Failed

10. Sanicball

The second of three parody games, Sanicball is also the dumbest game on our list. But please, bear with me.

Throwing out ridiculous things like "good controls", "good graphics", and "sound design" lets Sanicball focuses on one thing. Going fast. Pick one of many scribbled Sonic balls and hold tightly on your keyboard. You're racing at over 100 fasts per hour.

Fair warning, the sense of humor is juvenile. Loud MLG memes, Shrek worshipping, and even Thomas the Tank Engine. Sanicball has a little bit of every single "ironic" meme on the internet.

But even if you can't enjoy the... unique style, the game can become incredibly addictive. Controlling your slippery Sanicball eventually starts to feel natural, and the freely open maps allow you to start improvising shortcuts, leaping over half the map at a blur.

Sanicball is totally free, and has 64 player (!?) online servers. So if you don't believe me, try it out yourself, maybe even bring a few friends along to race against. Just turn down your speakers. It can get loud.

Sanicball and the Sanicball server hosting application can be found at the official development website.
