Can Activision save Call of Duty?

That's the question we'll get to answer after E3, but regardless of what the vocal legion of fans say online about their return to WWII, COD is still an absolute juggernaut of a franchise, resulting in one of the most talked-about titles of the fourth quarter already.

As mentioned, we're heading back to World War II, meaning yet more Normandy beach landings, more M1 Garands and more protracted reload times for bolt-action rifles. It's sure to have the budgetary clout only a publisher as financially well off as Activision can provide, but can it manage to be the future of COD whilst literally emulating the past?

We'll have to wait and see.
