10. Open World & Zombie Fatigue - Days Gone

Much like Rage 2, PS4 exclusive open-world zombie shooter Days Gone has had a tough task on its hands convincing players that it's more than just another open-world shooter.

And though recent press impressions have generally skirted quite positive - again, like Rage 2 - this isn't necessarily reflective of a greater sense of fatigue among gamers, both from open-world titles and zombies as a whole.

Yes, the creatures littering Days Gone are technically called "Freakers", but the nomenclature is ultimately pretty negligible. They're zombies, more or less.

This is another zombie game that may struggle to differentiate itself in a crowded field, even with the added boost of being the first major AAA PS4 exclusive released in 2019.

But then again, with so many hands-on previews lauding the game's rich world, maybe, just maybe it'll prove well worth its laboured development. Wait for reviews on this one.
