14 Ubisoft Video Games - Ranked From Worst To Best
5. Rayman Legends
Okay, I'm putting it out there: Rayman's latest two instalments (with Legends in particular) are better 2D platformers than everything Mario's doing.
Simply put, while Nintendo put out immaculately polished titles in a very specific vein, Rayman Legends has a real desire to one-up the competition, with animation and controls that are simply exquisite in-motion.
A bevy of characters to play as, environment design that's been tried n' tested to perfection, song-based levels that ape pop hits in-time with your jumps and moves - it's the first platformer I've played in years that actually felt fresh, modern and progressive, having something to add to the genre, other than simply repeating what's gone before.
