14 Worst Video Games Of 2019
11. Trials Rising
Y'know what Trials didn't need? Microtransactions and a loot system.
Literally no one - not a single one - was asking for a "robust system of unlockables", or to turn this beloved series into a "platform for content", more than it already was.
Because for the longest time, even through its many browser-based copycats, Trials is the epitome of "Just one more go" gaming. It thrives on being arcadey as hell, giving you great levels, a solid array of bikes to grapple with, and occasionally hilarious set-pieces that fling your rider in every direction possible.
Trials Rising - whilst having that loveable game engine at the very core - stumbles in every other area, including some occasionally impossible difficulty spikes, naff unlockables and unmemorable track design.
Another massive missed opportunity, seemingly put out to cash in on an existing IP.
