14 Worst Video Games Of 2019
10. Jump Force
Speaking of missed opportunities, Jump Force will go down as arguably the biggest of the generation.
How, when your mission statement is "combine the most popular anime characters, powers and environments in entertainment history", do you get that wrong?
Apparently, by not devoting anywhere near enough time to animation, storytelling or combat mechanics.
Jump Force on its face, is all the things I said, but playing it is a slog from front to back. Combos are weightless, boring and overly repetitive, power-ups don't have any of the requisite weight or style to truly shine, and the game's story involves talking to static character models over and over, until you unlock the next fight.
It's just baffling. If this had the care and attention of Dragon Ball FighterZ, we'd be looking at a Game of the Year instead.
