15 Best-Looking Video Games Of The Decade
8. Horizon: Zero Dawn
From one major exclusive tentpole to another, Horizon: Zero Dawn might be the most important Playstation game of the entire generation. Developer Guerrilla Games proved it was bigger than the Killzone franchise by switching gears and delivering a third-person open world RPG that boasts one of the most detailed stories of the decade.
Its strange post-apocalyptic setting was the real winner though. This was a world where humanity as we know it all but destroyed the planet and itself, with the game picking up hundreds of years in the future after the remaining humans have rebuilt.
The mix of sci-fi and fantasy made for some unique concoctions of creatures and architecture both strange yet familiar, not least in the landscape itself.
Whack HDR on and Zero Dawn pops like little else. It's a shame about the sadly robotic faces, but everything else more than makes up for it with sheer originality.
