The Prediction: BioWare's new multiplayer action RPG is the best-selling new IP of 2018.

Why It Will Happen: If Ghost Recon: Wildlands proved anything this year, it's that even mediocre multiplayer shooters can sell extremely well, so if this one gets even close to greatness, it's going to sell like hotcakes.

The big appeal, of course, is that people love to play online shooters in squads with their pals, and the fact that the game is a multi-platform release sure won't hurt it either.

Why It Might Not: It's possible that the recent Mass Effect: Andromeda debacle could put some players off touching anything from BioWare, and there's a small chance the game ends up being bad enough that even teenage boys who just want to play with their school pals don't buy it.

Or perhaps another new IP, maybe one that hasn't even been announced yet, sneaks in the back door and steals its glory away? Stranger things have most definitely happened.
