15 Good Reasons To Hate Modern Gaming

10. Digital Distribution

Digital distribution has its advantages. It allows us to be even lazier and not even have to leave the house to buy our games! Life is sweet, is it not? All kidding aside, it is a valuable way of cutting out the middle man and giving more power to the consumers in how they purchase their games. That being said, I can€™t be the only one who saddens when thinking about how physical copies are slowly being erased. Remember the days of instruction manuals comprised of 30-40 pages? Those are already pretty much gone. And soon, digital distribution will eliminate physical discs and cases altogether. Gone will be the smell of a new game, the unwrapping of the plastic, and the sweet artwork on the cover. Physical copies also have a practicality that digital copies don€™t have. Due to their lack of physical presence, digital products aren€™t as secure. They can be taken away with the click of a button; deleted, blocked, or stolen. But none of this matters, as the ease of digital distribution apparently outweighs these potential issues. Soon, games collections will exist not on your shelf, but in a tiny chip. Kind of sad, if you ask me.
