15 Greatest Ever Video Game Anti-Heroes
5. Johnny Gat - Saints Row
One of the lieutenants of the Third Street Saints, Johnny Gat is quite a perplexing character. Seeing his home city ravaged by gang wars over turf, Johnny joined the Saints due to their ambitions of ending the violence. Whilst this may be an admirable goal, his violent tendencies certainly make him the most volatile member of the crew.
Resorting to charging in guns blazing makes up the basis of all of his plans, and he even partakes in the assassinations of both Mayor Winslow and police chief Monroe, cementing his status as one of the most high-profile criminals in the world of Saints Row.
Despite all of this he is fiercely loyal to those closest to him, especially to the player-character and his girlfriend, Aisha, and will always have your back regardless of how bleak your situation may look.
In the topsy-turvy world of Saints Row however, by the third instalment of the franchise the Saints and Johnny Gat are idolised in society, with huge merchandising deals propelling the former gang into conglomerate corporation status. Somewhat of a meta-commentary on our modern society and how we seemingly yearn for everything that is bad for us at whatever expense, Johnny strongly opposes the new fundamentals of the Third Street Saints.
Unfortunately, before he gains an opportunity to try and turn the Saints around, he is gunned down. Rest in peace, Johnny.
