15 Greatest Steam Video Games Of The 2000s

7. Rome: Total War - 22nd September, 2004

The Total War series have created some of the greatest PC games ever. Although Medieval and Shogun were some of the best, The Creative Assembly reached their peak with Rome: Total War. Grand spectacle and a great strategic challenge made Rome an amazing release from the outset, however excellent mod support means that the game can keep entertaining hundreds of hours later. Although the vanilla game is a masterpiece in itself, it€™s one of the game€™s with DLC that are practically essential if you enjoyed the original game. Both Alexander and Barbarian Invasion are two incredible new campaigns to play through all over again. Quite simply, if you€™re even remotely a fan of strategy games, Rome: Total War is an absolutely essential addition to your library. What the critics say: Gamespot: 9.1/10 IGN: 9.4/10 Steam User Reviews: Overwhelmingly Positive (95% Positive) Metacritic: 9/10

Fred hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here. Maybe. It might be over there. We're not really sure.
