15 Greatest Video Game Theme Songs Of All Time

10. Devil May Cry (Devils Never Cry)

It's weird to think that despite Dante becoming the coolest new character of the entire 2000s, he didn't have a theme to do him or his series justice until the third instalment. By the time Capcom had knocked it out the park on the original and missed the ball entirely on the sequel, re-introducing the world to the character and mythos surrounding the Son of Sparda was no small task.

Inevitably, they 'rebooted' him somewhat, doing a prequel story that restored the character's wisecracking charm, recruiting the thoroughly badass Tetsuya Shibata to apply his fighting game composition skills to a track that would make everyone pay attention.

Early trailers were then caked in liberal use of grimy vocals and fuzz-filled techno beats, the result being a concoction about as addictive and messily enjoyable as the game's combat, and by extension, Dante himself.
