15 Hilarious Voice Acting Fails In Horror Video Games
11. Aliens: Colonial Marines
Aliens: Colonial Marines is a title guilty of numerous crimes. From the countless bugs and false advertising, it nearly destroyed the reputation of Alien games. One of its lesser-known faults, however, is the poor execution of its fan service.
You see, the game tried to retcon Alien 3 in order to please fans by bringing back Corporal Dwayne Hicks, who seemingly died in the 1992 film. But while Gearbox Studios managed to get Michael Biehn to reprise the role, his performance here is abysmal and a departure from his body of work.
In a later interview, the actor called the experience 'passionless', and boy, it clearly shows. Every aspect that made Hicks a fan favorite is gone due to Biehn's lack of enthusiasm for the project.
This is best seen when the game recreates Ellen Ripley's sacrifice in Alien 3 yet the actor sounds like he forgot his car keys. Not exactly the reaction you'd make when seeing your romantic interest throw herself into a furnace.
Thankfully, Michael Biehn managed to prove that he could be a capable voice actor in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
