15 Hilarious Voice Acting Fails In Horror Video Games

Forbidden Siren is a Japanese horror game from the 2000s. Its unique feature was possessing nearby enemies to see and hear what was going on from their perspective. But as it was common at the time, this Asian game received an English localization that was poorly received.

The most glaring flaw in the dubbed version of Forbidden Siren is the casting of its voice actors. For one, Sony Computer Entertainment hired performers with heavy accents to play the parts. This means players will be hearing Japanese locals speak British which makes the experience rather jarring.

But having an accent isn't necessarily bad as Western voice actors trying to sound Asian might seem more offensive. What is bad is the performances of these so-called talents who deliver lines so flat with little-to-no emotion.

Combine this with the developers superimposing human faces into the character models, and you end up veering off into the uncanny valley.

Thankfully, the makers of the game realized their mistake because, by the time we got Forbidden Siren 2, players got the option to use the original Japanese voices.
