Like South Park or Springfield, Resident Evil's iconic city location has been entirely fictitious for years. However, upon creating the 2002 movie, director Paul W. S. Anderson needed somewhere to film for an actual location.

As such, although many fans have written detailed accounts of which real-world buildings match those in the games in an attempt to zero in on any likely candidate, Anderson shot all the Raccoon City scenes for his first movie in Toronto, located in Ontario, Canada.

So there you have it - Capcom may keep their lips sealed, but we can put one non-fictional place to the name regardless.
